The Irish Concrete Society organizes an annual Awards Scheme
for excellence in design and construction in concrete. This enables
the Society to acknowledge outstanding achievements in which concrete
in any form contributes to the built environment. Entries relating
to the contribution made by concrete to any aspect of building,
civil engineering, architecture, art or landscaping will be accepted
by the Society. The Award Scheme, which began in 1979, is now well
established and attracts a wide range of entries from both large
and small projects alike.
Entries are sub-divided into three categories:
Building
Infrastructural
Elemental
An
award is presented to category winners and one overall winner is
chosen from these three.
The Society also presents a sculptural award, for innovative use
of concrete as a medium of expression and a student
award for excellence in concrete research.
The final date of submission has passed for the 2003 Irish Concrete
Awards. Entries will be accepted for the 2004 Awards from August/September
2004. An online application form will be available then.
